QR Codes Mandatory Check-in including your employees for all Workplaces and Retail Businesses in NSW

Businesses using the Service NSW QR code will need to ensure their staff and visitors check-in, when they return after the stay-at-home order period.

The NSW Government has announced that from Monday 12 July 2021 that the use of the Service NSW QR code will be mandatory at all workplaces and retail businesses in NSW, which includes:

  • Offices
  • Manufacturing and warehousing
  • Retail businesses and supermarkets
  • Shopping centres and individual shops within the shopping centre
  • Gyms
  • Call centres
  • Universities and TAFE
  • Schools including teachers and visitors, excluding students

Businesses that fail to comply with these new requirements may be subject to fines and temporary closure orders.

NSW is the first state to mandate the use of QR codes in workplaces and retail businesses.
